Film policy prepared, will be announced in March, Shibli Faraz

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz has said that the announcement of the country's film policy is expected by March 2021 and a basic outline has been prepared in this regard. So that it can be presented comprehensively at once.
Giving to Independent Urdu, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz said that although filmmaking in Pakistan was given the status of an industry in 1992, unfortunately it was never implemented but now as per the directive of the Prime Minister, we Are reviving and giving a comprehensive plan of what kind of films the government will be able to facilitate.
Shibli Faraz said filmmakers need a system to lend to the bank because the bank first worries about how its money will be returned.
He acknowledged that at present cinema owners have tax exemption while filmmakers have to pay double tax and the government is considering the issue and it will be resolved.
One of the major problems facing the film industry in the country is the number of permits required for one location for filming, which the Federal Minister of Information has assured will be remedied, saying that it is very difficult and he wants it. That the attractive places of Pakistan should be photographed to attract tourists to Pakistan, that is why the government has included this aspect in its film policy.
Shibli Faraz said that commercial films have their own needs but art films should also be made in the country and we should promote our heroes, why can't we make films on the heroes of our region.
The Federal Minister for Information said that filmmaking is a creative process and therefore he is not convinced of strictness in censorship, only that the film should not harm the basic social values ​​of the country, be it religious or cultural. He added that film is a medium that reflects life so he is not convinced of the ban.
Shibli Faraz said that the 18th amendment to the constitution has unfortunately led to a deterioration in governance, which has led to censor boards in the country at both the federal and provincial levels which are being sought to be consolidated.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had recently issued special instructions to the government to promote the film industry in the country and said that all departments must play their role in this regard so that the film industry in Pakistan can be revived.
