Pakistani actors Humayun Saeed and Shaan Shahid have praised Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry's move to launch a Netflix-style online streaming version in Pakistan.
Speaking on social networking site Twitter, Humayun Saeed described it as "great good news" and said the move was urgently needed at the time. "I have you," the actor added, adding that the government's move would open the door to employment for many capable and skilled people.
Actor Shaan Shahid, who appears to be critical of broadcasting foreign content on state television, praised Fawad Chaudhry's move, saying "we need to make our presence felt in the entertainment industry around the world." Content developers in N will have the freedom to work in this new market.
