Meesha Shafi's petition filed against Ali Zafar was rejected in the court.
According to details, Lahore Sessions Court Judge Yasir Ali heard Meesha Shafi's plea during which the court rejected the plea to stay the proceedings on the singer's defamation suit.
The court rejected Mesha Shafi's defamation suit and summoned Meesha Shafi's witnesses on October 27.
It may be recalled that at the last hearing, singer Mesha Shafi had requested to stay the proceedings on the claim till the FIR of cyber crime is decided. The proceedings on the defamation suit filed by Ali Zafar should be stayed till the decision of the case filed by him.
On the other hand, Ali Zafar, while appealing to the court, had said that Meesha Shafi was using delaying tactics, only five witnesses were named in the case, so the court should reject Mesha Shafi's application and complete the proceedings on the contempt claim. Singer Ali Zafar has filed a claim for Rs 1 billion against Meesha Shafi for sexual harassment.
